Puy-Faure Castle has been our family estate for five generations, located in the village of Aubie in the Haute Gironde region. Our father, André, established the château’s name; his son, Benoît, succeeded him; and now it is we, his daughters, Anne-Laure and Pauline, who are carrying on the tradition.
Our project is to convert our vineyard to agroecological practices this year, planting hedges and groves around the plots, completely eliminating the use of herbicides, practicing conservation agriculture, and developing beekeeping.
It is now a 100% female-run estate, and although we are deeply rooted in our vines, we are also globetrotters! Our family comes from all corners of the world, and at Puy Faure, you will often hear a mix of French, Spanish with Mexican accents, English, and German.
Pauline has twenty years of beekeeping experience in Mexico, and it was only natural that she recreated an apiary at Puy Faure. The bees thrive in this verdant setting, rich in flowers, and produce delicious honeys.
